Thunderbolt Plus 40 is the warmest wax in Fast Wax's top-of-the-line race series. It is engineered for conditions where free water beneath the ski creates suction and lasting speed requires both strong water repellency and exceptional durability.
Thunderbolt Plus is built to offer exceptional value per gram in top-tier race wax. Every bar is pine scented, and in an industry first, Fast Wax provides an ingredient list on the back of the package—giving skiers greater transparency about what goes onto their skis and into the snow.
WAX TECHNOLOGY:
Thunderbolt Plus 40 combines Fast Wax MS12 with additive J. MS12 is a highly hydrophobic high-density polyethylene composite containing two types of high-performance ceramic microspheres. The microspheres' large surface area amplifies water repellency and lubricity, helping the ski break suction and glide freely across wet snow.
Additive J brings the PLUS. This high-density polyethylene wax is reinforced with a hard, non-ferrous metallic nanocomposite. Its nanoparticles strengthen the wax structure inside the ski base and dramatically increase durability without increasing hardness.
One additive is engineered for speed. One is engineered for durability. Together, they help Thunderbolt Plus 40 remain fast through warm, wet, coarse, and demanding snow—all without PTFE or intentionally added forever chemicals.
Thunderbolt Plus additives are engineered and made in the USA, listed on the EPA TSCA Inventory, and registered under REACH.
WHEN TO USE:
Choose Thunderbolt Plus 40 when temperatures are between 30° and 50° F. It is the best Thunderbolt Plus option for warm races, wet spring snow, and conditions where moisture-related suction can decide the result.

YOUR HOME TOWN WAX SINCE 1994
In 1994, a top Nordic ski shop tried Fast Wax, loved it, and started selling it. This endorsement led to more shops becoming dealers. By 1997, Fast Wax became the top hometown wax in the upper Midwest. Soon, it gained popularity nationwide and started shipping internationally, winning races by the early 2000s.
