Thunderbolt 0 is the coldest wax in the Thunderbolt lineup. It is engineered for the challenging conditions found during the coldest part of winter, when dry friction and abrasive snow can quickly rob skis and snowboards of speed.

This budget-friendly race wax combines excellent glide with all-day durability, making it a strong choice for racers and performance-minded recreational skiers who want dependable cold-weather speed.

Thunderbolt is built to offer the best value per gram in ski wax. Every bar is pine scented, and in an industry first, Fast Wax provides an ingredient list on the back of the package—giving skiers greater transparency about what goes onto their skis and into the snow.

WAX TECHNOLOGY:

Thunderbolt 0 uses Fast Wax MS12, a highly hydrophobic additive made from a high-density polyethylene composite containing two types of high-performance ceramic microspheres. These microspheres increase the wax's water-repelling surface area while enhancing slip, lubricity, and resistance to abrasion.

Unlike traditional fluorocarbon additives, MS12 contains no PTFE. Its larger structure also gives the paraffin wax more surface area to hold the additive within the ski base, helping performance decline gradually instead of dropping sharply as the wax wears.

Thunderbolt race waxes are engineered and made in the USA using additives listed on the EPA TSCA Inventory and registered under REACH. They contain no intentionally added forever chemicals.

WHEN TO USE:

Choose Thunderbolt 0 when temperatures are between -20° and 10° F. It performs best in cold, dry, abrasive, and windblown snow where durability and protection from dry friction are essential. Swix HS5 is the closest wax in the current standard HS line, but its published temperature range is narrower and warmer than Thunderbolt 0's range.

YOUR HOME TOWN WAX SINCE 1994

In 1994, a top Nordic ski shop tried Fast Wax, loved it, and started selling it. This endorsement led to more shops becoming dealers. By 1997, Fast Wax became the top hometown wax in the upper Midwest. Soon, it gained popularity nationwide and started shipping internationally, winning races by the early 2000s.
